The Team

Given our commitment to provide quality service to our clientele and bringing management consulting to the doorsteps of micro/small and medium sized enterprises, we have a team of seasoned professionals who have distinguished themselves in their chosen professional careers and are capable of delivering the required services in the firms identified specialized areas.

The team is made up of three partners and four associates with varied professional backgrounds spanning accounting, management and development consulting, financial advisory services, banking and taxation. A & A also has a veritable database of seasoned professionals combined with the requisite support staff who are ready, able and willing to render quality services on request.

 

K. B. Andah, BA (Hons), FCCA ( UK ), CA (Gh) is the Managing Partner of the firm. He is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants of the UK and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants , Ghana . He brings to the company a wealth of experience in Accountancy, Auditing, Taxation, Insolvency, Corporate Finance, Research, Training, Management and Development Consulting spanning fifteen years in very responsible positions, a greater proportion of which were with KPMG primarily in the West African sub-region where he was Head of Financial Advisory Services.

KB's broad and varied consulting experience has endowed him with a holistic view of industry and sector issues because of the unique distinction of having worked in all key areas of professional service delivery i.e. management consulting, assurance/audit, taxation, private sector (i.e. privatization and financial/investment advisory services) and public sector consulting.

As a Manager at KPMG Assurance & Taxation, he was responsible for the statutory audits and the provision of tax advisory services for medium and large sized organisations. He also has immense experience in auditing internationally funded projects, especially the World Bank, European Union (EU) and other donor financed/development projects. He was also responsible for the conduct of financial reviews of World Bank facilities and IDA loans, specifically Structural Adjustment Credits (SAC I&II), Transport Rehabilitation Project (TRP), African Facility Credits and undertaking the review of the European Union's Sectoral Import Program Auction Facility amongst others.

He also undertook investment and financial advisory consulting services for clients and has facilitated and been a resource person for numerous KPMG sponsored training programs. These clients include banks, leasing and finance companies, manufacturing industries, oil and gas, insurance and reinsurance, NGOs, leisure and entertainment, mining and construction, commerce, port and shipping as well as state owned companies.

KB takes time off his busy schedule to lecture on a part time basis, the two final modules of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, ACCA , UK i.e. Financial Strategy and Management Strategy. With a degree in Sociology from the University of Ghana , KB also has a keen interest in issues relating to poverty alleviation and development consulting.

KB, with his mix of youthful - but highly experienced - and mature team represent a crop of professionals who have positioned themselves to offer cutting edge solutions in the aforementioned service areas.

 

Kobby Andah , CA (Gh), MBA - Finance ( Manchester ) is a Partner of the firm. Kobby is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants , Ghana . He has under his belt immense experience garnered from working at Tetteh Usher & Partners (now taken over by Deloitte Touché) and KPMG. He started off as an Audit trainee from January 1983 to June 1989. From July 1989 to December 1990 he was the Audit and Business Advisory Services Manager at KPMG where he managed a portfolio of medium and large sized organizations.

Kobby resigned from KPMG and took up appointment with the Securities Discount Company (SDC) Limited as Financial Controller from January 1991 to December 1995.

Kobby proceeded to The Trust Bank Limited after resigning from SDC and took up appointment as the Chief Accountant from January 1996 to September 1999 where he was responsible for the Finance, Accounting and Administration function. He was also a member of the Executive, Asset/Liability Management and Technology Committees from 1999 when Belgolaise acquired shares in the Bank. Kobby was elevated to the position of Group Head of Financial Controls and Administration in September 2001 and was entrusted with an enhanced portfolio covering the Human Resources, Information Technology and Administration departments. He was given additional membership responsibilities of the HR Advisory and Strategy Committees and represented the Trust Bank on the Board of the Exim - Guarantee Company Limited.

On account of his commendable contribution to the growth and profitability of the Trust Bank he was seconded to Belgolaise of Belgium (the parent company of the Trust Bank, Ghana) in February 2002 to June 2002 where he was in charge of Credits for English speaking affiliates worldwide and Belgolaise, London. He was tasked with the responsibility of designing and implementing the management and cost accounting system and resolving MIS problems for Belgolaise, London . He has since been a financial and management information systems consultant to NBM Bank Limited (the Belgolaise affiliate bank in Nigeria ) assisting in the development and implementation of corporate strategies, planning, budgeting and business process re-engineering.

Kobby has had the benefit of attending and participating in several courses, seminars and workshops both locally and overseas and has been a resource person in several training programs

 

Clifford G. Fiadjoe FCCA, CA, FGIT is a Partner of the firm. He is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of the UK, member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana. He was the first Chairman and a Senior Partner of Ernst & Young, Ghana Office. In his thirty nine year career he has had extensive experience in accounting and audit, diagnostic studies and business reviews.

His functional expertise covers financial management assignments in both the public and private sectors. He has held senior finance positions in industry and has facilitated financial management courses for public sector employees. He was a Founding/Managing Partner of Fiadjoe & Associates (Chartered Accountants) – 1996 to 1999; and Owusu & Fiadjoe (Chartered Accountants) – 1980 through to 1995

 

Peter O. Andah, FGIT, FAAI is an Associate of the firm. He brings to the firm a breathtaking knowledge and practice of Taxation, having worked with the then Income Tax Department and Central Revenue Department (now Internal Revenue Service) for over two decades and rising to the position of Deputy Commissioner before retiring. He has consulted for small, medium and large sized companies (including multinationals) and has been an advisor to and consulted for the Government of Ghana on taxation related issues.

He is a founding member of the Ghana Institute of Taxation (now Chartered Institute of Taxation) and its first Honorary Secretary. He was subsequently elected President of the Institute in 1985 and 1986. He is an elected member of the International Tax Planning Association, London and an honorary member of the Oregon State Senate Tax Committee.

He was actively involved in part time lectureship in taxation until 1973 when he retired. Beneficiary institutions are the School of Administration , Legon, Institute of Chartered Accountants , Ghana , Institute of Professional Studies , Legon, Institute of Accountancy Studies and the Accra Polytechnic.

He was the Examiner for the final taxation papers of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants and The Chartered Institute of Taxation and continued as the moderator for the same papers until 1992 when he retired.

He has authored two authoritative books in Taxation namely – Ghana Income Tax Law and Practice - which won an award from the Ghana Book Development Council in 1987 and A Guide to Income Tax Auditing and Investigation Techniques .

 

Ezekiel F. Asamoah, FCIT, is an Associate of the firm. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana and currently President of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. His thirty-year spell with the Internal Revenue Service (where he rose to the rank of Deputy Commissioner - in charge of operations) ended when he was seconded to the Value Added Tax Service as the first Commissioner in 1994 until he retired in 2001.

He has attended several courses/seminars and been part of and led official delegations amongst which include

•  The DFID sponsored workshop on Taxation and Poverty Alleviation in Nairobi , Kenya .
•  VAT administration and management course, RIPA, London
•  Organisational Management Training Programme - Crown Agents, Accra
•  In Tax Management Seminar –US, Inland Revenue Service, San Diego , US
•  Member of official IRS delegation to India , USA , Revenue Canada (Taxation) and Inland Revenue (UK)
•  Member of official VAT delegation to Uganda Revenue Authority and Kenya VAT service.

Ezekiel also lectured in Taxation on a part time basis at the Institute of Accountancy Training - Ministry of Finance, from 1997 to 1982.

 

Emmanuel Kweku Andah, BA (Econs), MA (Applied Economics), PhD (Agricultural Economics) is an Associate of the firm. His key areas of interest are Poverty Alleviation and Rural Development, Agricultural Development Policy, Project Administration and Management, Project Appraisal and Analysis, Performance Appraisal/Performance Improvement Programming, Project Planning and Management and Training Needs Assessment/ Analyses.

Underpinning the above are certificates in Agribusiness Management and Food and Agriculture Policy Analysis at the Arthur D. Little Management Education Institute and Harvard Institute for International Development respectively in the United States .

Kweku started off as a lecturer at the University of Ghana in 1964 until his appointment as a Cabinet Minister for the portfolios of Agriculture and subsequently Youth and Rural Development from 1979 to 1981. He was Head, Department of Economics, School of Agriculture , Bendel State University in 1981-1982. From 1983 to 1995 he was Head Member, Countries Training Program, African Development Bank, Abidjan , Cote d'Ivoire . He was subsequently reappointed a senior lecturer at the University of Ghana from 1996 to 2001.

He is a member of several professional bodies and associations. Typical among them are the;

Kweku has read a lot of papers at conferences worldwide and has numerous research publications to his credit.

 

Noel Tagoe BSc. (Admin) Hons , CA , M.Acc., PhD is an Associate of the firm. His background as an academic, public and private sector consultant makes him well placed to render innovative advisory services to clients.

Noel was Head of Financial Advisory Services at KPMG until he resigned in 2001. Prior to joining KPMG, he was a senior lecturer in Accounting and Finance at the Universities of Manchester ( Manchester Business School ) and Dundee . Preceding his lectureship tenure; he was Head of Corporate Planning at British Petroleum ( Ghana ) Limited. His key areas of interest are Strategic Management Accounting, Business Process Re-engineering, Benchmarking, Cost Management and Efficiency Processes, Corporate Finance, Financial Analyses and Restructuring, Performance Management and Capital Investment.

Noel has consulted both in the sub region and in Europe . He also has a raft of research publications and papers to his credit.
